Creativity and Mental Health
I know these two areas greatly. People have suspected that a person with great creativity lends to a mind of mental unstable nature. Parts of me agree, but parts of me hope for a different perspective. Being a creative individual, I have struggled with depression. Truthfully, I’m just coming back from a bad patch. This last time was the worst I ever had. I questioned seeking dire help. In my mind, it played out like a film with me rocking back and forth in a padded locked room. Terrible, I know. But I’m being honest here and that’s what is important. We need to talk and be open about this topic. Everyone needs support and validation. Now that I’m back on a positive track and have managed to adjust my mind, perhaps I can return to creating.

The line between genius and insanity is only measured by success some times… As writes dealing with a mental illness can be a two edge sword… It can give us some really great human suffering writing abilities but we are the one suffering for it.
Great post and thank you for sharing about your depression, the more we openly talk about it the more people wont be afraid of it.
